Today's Diane Rehm show discussed the issues of cloning animals, and the role the FDA does and/or should play, and the needs and desires of consumers. I heard a *great* caller demanding that she, as a consumer, has the right to choose what she is eating. The tough part with shows like this is that all the guests are *not* equal. The poor person set up to 'defend' not labeling cloned animals in food products seemed woefully unprepared.

Meat and Milk from Cloned Animals
The FDA's public comment period on the plan to allow cloned animal products in our nation's food supply ends next week. We'll hear arguments for and against the proposal.
Anyways, if anyone else is concerned over this issue, or just curious, I suggest a listen.

And one more thing. I've not been a huge This American Life fan til now. I love occasional shows, but it isn't something I'm hooked on. But when grabbing the link to the site for a recent post, I saw the upcoming television episode.

This American Life, March 29th, Showtime or On Demand
An exploration of the benefits and costs of stubbornness. If you're a 15-year-old boy, and you don't want to fall in love, maybe you can just decide not to do it. Ever. Stories of trying to cheat death, love, political reality, and memory with only an idiosyncratic vision and a lot of stamina.
As a stubborn woman.. I so want to see this, an affirmation of the power in stubbornness (though trust me it has its drawbacks too).
[this is good]
I'm a Huge Fresh Air Fan. Yesterday Terri was discussing religion and/or lack of faith with a few "non-religious" guests. I love that NPR provides a forum to Really Listen to the views of Everyone...without the yelling, anger, and defensiveness that always happens when you have these types of conversations in real life. All religions and even lack thereof have some bauble of truth that you can use in Real Life. I've always found it so restricting and naive to believe that One Religion has all the answers for Everybody. I like knowing that others feel the same.
Yeah I heard that too! I got home in the middle but my boyfriend was completely not interested in listening to it. It was fascinating.
